The Wellington County library system is comprised of 14 branches spread around the county, with a central library/headquarters located in Elora. Puslinch is the southernmost branch, serving a community of just over 5,000 residents.
Our collection is growing and we can offer, in addition to regular books, talking books (tape or CD), video (VHS or DVD) interactive multimedia, and magazines for children and adults.
We have access to all the items in the Wellington County system and we have an excellent delivery system for those who request items not found on our shelves.
We can give professional help in finding employment. We also offer internet access to independent researchers.
We host a weekly Story Time for children aged 3 to 5 years. It is held on Thursday mornings from 10.00 am. - 11.00am. Sessions run for 6 weeks. Phone for details and to register.

The Librarians are Janet Dagenais and Frankie Shaw

Lines from the Library (June 2006)
By Frankie Shaw
Back in February we decided run ‘the’ Forest of Reading’ programme to encourage readers to try different kinds of books and authors. Now that the programme has ended and the readers have cast their votes for their favourite title, some of the ‘Forest of Reading’ winners have been announced.
Ken Oppel was declared the winner of this year's Red Maple Award for his book ‘Skybreaker’. The White Pine award was won by Charles de Lint for ‘Blue Girl’ and George Elliott won the Blue Spruce award with his ‘Boy Who Loved Bananas’. We are now waiting for the results of the Silver Birch award.
Here in the library we had a draw for those readers who voted for their favourite ‘Forest of Reading’ book, in their respective categories. The winners were Iain Bulmer, Nicola Kitching, Meghan Olywa and Sam Rice. Congratulations to all!

Studies have shown that children who do not continue to read during the summer months, lose their reading skills. Further studies revealed that children who do not read fluently by the fourth grade will never likely feel comfortable with the printed word. We have to keep those children reading, making sure that they have fun along the way.
